Canada Sevens stalwart Connor Braid admitted to having a "great time" at 2014's Commonwealth Games opening ceremony, which took place in Glasgow last night.
It was a terrific start for Canada in the pool today at Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow. In addition to many fast swims by the Canadians, a strong international field contributed to seeing four Games Records fall.
"It feels unbelievable to get a medal. I had to work really hard after the swim and beginning of the bike to catch up so it didn't feel like my best race. But I'm thrilled to get a medal!"
It was a special, unique, efficient and refreshing Opening Ceremony, with a most original souvenir: Thousands of slips of white tissue paper rained down on athletes, each paper bearing an original handwritten good luck message from a Glasgow child.
