Glasgow, SCO – The Canadian athletics team took home five medals on day four of track and field competition at the Commonwealth Games.

With six wrestlers going for gold in various weight-classes today in Glasgow, the chance for medals was there, but the calibre of the wrestling done by the Canadians guaranteed it.

Divers Jennifer Abel (Laval, QC) and Pamela Ware (Beloei, QC) captured the silver medal in 3-meter synchro at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland.

Men’s singles lawn bowler Ryan Bester, a transplanted Canadian who now calls Australia home, finished first today in his group and has advanced to the quarter-final set for Thursday morning.

Men's singles lawn bowler Ryan Bester advanced to the quarter-final after two wins Wednesday. Bester won over Samuela Tuikiligana of Fiji 21-19 and Muhammad Hizlee Abdul Rais of Malaysia 21-11.

For the third time in it's history, the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh, Scotland, has played host to the top divers in the Commonwealth. Ten gold medals will be awarded at the venue over the next four days, the first of which went to Canada in the women's 10-meter synchronized event.
