Peter Nicol Named President/CEO of Gymnastics Canada

 
Mr. Nicol has extensive experience in sport leadership and administration at the National and International Level. First joining Gymnastics Canada as the Chief Operating Officer in April 2013, he has been in the role of Acting President/CEO since April 2014. Prior to joining GCG, he was highly involved with the Canadian Forces (CF) Sports Program.

Over the course of 24 years, he has obtained experience as an athlete, coach, team manager, event organizer, program manager, and finally Senior Sports Manager for the CF Sports Program. In the role of Senior Sports Manager he provided oversight of the military’s multisport program that covers the spectrum from grass roots to the international level. He was also involved with the Conseil International du Sport Militaire’s (CISM) Sport Commission, as well as the CISM Strategic Planning and Regulations Working Groups.

Mr. Nicol has completed his Master’s degree in sports administration at the University of Ottawa and he brings a broad range of knowledge and expertise to his new role as President/CEO of GCG.
