Jean Emmanuel Pierre-Charles

ATHLETE REPRESENTATIVE

Jean Emmanuel Pierre-Charles is a former professional basketball player and now a Risk Advisory Senior Consultant with Deloitte.  His desire is to partner with Commonwealth Sport Canada (CSC) and help Canadian athletes achieve success as he intrinsically understands the athlete’s perspective.  His role is to bridge the gap and build a connection between the athletes and the CSC Board of Directors.

Representing Canada, Pierre-Charles earned a silver medal in men’s basketball at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. Basketball has provided Pierre-Charles with the opportunity to visit different countries and become adaptable to new situations and environments. Leadership values, high level of commitment, attention to detail, and building relationships to reach common goals are skills that he has developed during his athletic career, utilized throughout his life and are things he is delighted to bring to the CSC team.

Pierre-Charles’ strong passion to embrace different cultures derives from his athletic experiences. He would love to help athletes understand that representing your country is not only an unforgettable moment but a milestone they will be able to utilize throughout their lives. His mission is to support Commonwealth athletes to maximize their athletic and human experiences.

By seamlessly transferring the skills his athletic career has given him to into agile Consultant, it has strengthened his collaboration skills with various industries. Because of this, he can meet their needs and expectations while also providing recommendations that enhance and grow business efficiency.  This ability to transition is something he hopes to share with others.

His vision for the CSC Council is to continue championing athletic excellence while dismantling disparities and barriers to unite Canadians while at the same time supporting the continuous development of the CSC organization.

Pierre-Charles attended both Carleton and Ottawa Universities, majoring in Economics.
