Filion and Benfeito earn silver at diving US Grand Prix

Roseline Filion of Laval, Que., and Meaghan Benfeito of Montreal collected their sixth international medal in eight events this season on Saturday with a second place finish in the women’s 10-metre synchro at the U.S., Grand Prix diving competition.

Canada Shines with Four Medals @ Judo World Cup in Miami

Montreal, May 10, 2012 – Canada’s judokas shimmered in the heat at the Miami Judo World Cup, earning four medals total on Day One of competitions, Thursday. Étienne Briand lead Team Canada with a silver medal win in the Under 73 kg category. Teammates Justin Fumiya Imagawa and Arthur Margelidon also stepped onto the podium with bronze medals, while in women’s competitions Audrée Francis-Méthot also scored a bronze.

COMMONWEALTH GAMES CANADA'S 2012 GAME OF LIFE RUN/WALK RAISES OVER $65,000 FOR GRASSROOTS SPORT PROGRAMS

Young people in the Caribbean will be the main beneficiaries of the more than $65,000 raised during Commonwealth Games Canada (CGC)'s second annual Game of Life Run/Walk. Over 1,200 people in four cities across Canada took part in the 5k/10k event, held yesterday in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and Halifax in support of CGC's grassroots sport programs.
