Matthew Guinness-King

Leader Bio: Matthew is a very accomplished rugby player, competing nationally and internationally. He was voted 2005 Player of the Year while on Team Canada's Rugby team. He also held the captaincy for the national team for 5 years. Matthew attended Cambridge University to obtain his Master in Business Administration in 2010, where he also captained the Cambridge University Rugby Union Football Club. In his professional life, Matthew has extensive experience in midstream oil & gas business development.
Placement Date: April 7-17, 2013
Placement Details: Prior to his departure to Turks and Caicos, Matthew was able to identify with the host organization their main areas of need. The main areas they decided to work on together included:increasing the number of male and female players of all ages, increasing the number of coaches and referees, further exposing rugby to outer islands of the Turks and Caicos, sourcing external funding for resources and equipment, and increasing the reach of marketing and publicity.
