LONDON - September 5, 2012 - It was a five-medal day today as Benoit Huot of Montreal collected a third medal at the Paralympic Games, a silver, and Aurélie Rivard of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., added a surprise silver in their respective 400-metre freestyle races on Wednesday in swimming.

Valérie Grand’Maison of Montreal won the silver medal on Saturday in the women’s S13 50-metre freestyle in swimming action at the Paralympic Games.

Montreal swimmer Benoit Huot won gold in the men's 200-metre individual medley at the Paralympics Games in London on Thursday, giving Canada its first medal of the Games. Huot picked up his ninth career Paralympic swimming gold by breaking his own world record with a time of two minutes 10.01 seconds. The 28-year-old won four bronze medals in Beijing four years ago.
