Board of Directors: Sue Boreskie

VICE PRESIDENT

Sue Boreskie has held a variety of health, fitness, and sport-related positions throughout her career. Currently, she is the CEO of the Manitoba Cardiac Institute (Reh-Fit) Inc. – a leading Canadian medical fitness centre that helps improve the quality of life for those recovering from a heart attack, and those at high risk for one, through supervised cardiac rehabilitation programs.

She was previously the Associate Executive Director of the Rady Jewish Community Centre, Executive Director of the Wellness Institute at Seven Oaks General Hospital, and Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation Studies at the University of Manitoba.

As a retired athlete, volunteer, and exercise physiologist with a professional background in physical education, Sue has worked with a number of sports teams to help monitor and develop their training programs, and is widely respected for her leadership and expertise in the areas of organizational design, and athlete and sport development.

As a testament to her numerous contributions, she’s also been formally recognized for her volunteer and professional work in sport, fitness, and health, with the University of Manitoba Outreach Award and the YM-YWCA Women of the Year Award.

Background in Sport

Sue’s involvement with Commonwealth Games Canada first began in 1994 as a volunteer Member-At-Large, and continued on through 2002 when she was first elected as a Vice President to the CGC Board of Directors.

Sue is a resident of Winnipeg. When not busy volunteering at her children’s swim club, she can be found guest-lecturing at the University of Manitoba and the University of Winnipeg.
