Silver medal for Abel and Ware at diving World Series

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Jennifer Abel of Laval, Que., and Pamela Ware of Beloeil, Que., earned their second medal this season on the FINA World Series diving circuit placing second in the women’s three-metre synchro event.

He Zi and Han Wang of China were the winners with 324.90 points edging the Canadians who posted 313.86. Tania Cagnotto and Francesca Dallape of Italy were third at 302.40.

On women’s 10-metre synchro, Yajie Si and Huixia Liu of China won gold with 336.54 points. Pandelela Rinong Pamg and Mun Yee Leong of Malaysia were second at 308.82 and Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow of Britain were third at 304.28.

Olympic bronze medallists Roseline Filion of Laval and Meaghan Benfeito of Montreal were fourth at 302.52. They were second at the two first stops on the circuit.

Competition continues through to Sunday.
