OTTAWA - (June 29, 2026) - Commonwealth Sport Canada (CSC) today announced that CBC/Radio-Canada will be the broadcast and streaming home in Canada for the 2026 Commonwealth Games, taking place from Thursday, July 23 to Sunday, August 2 in Glasgow, Scotland. CBC/Radio-Canada will provide comprehensive coverage of the 12-day multi-sport event on CBC TV, CBC Gem and ICI TOU.TV, including live daily broadcast and streaming coverage starting with the Opening Ceremony on July 23, and up-to-the-minute news across CBC Sports and Radio-Canada Sports digital and social media platforms.

The upcoming 2026 Games will take place in Glasgow, Scotland from July 23 through to August 2, with 74 participating nations and territories taking part. For the Games this summer, Canada will be sending a team of more than 148 athletes competing in nine sports, with the largest number of para-athletes competing ever at 34. The athletes will be supported by 81 officials, including 20 mission staff. As only the third city in history to host the Games twice, for 2026, Glasgow will be delivering a leaner and more sustainable model for major events, leveraging Glasgow’s world-class venues, infrastructure and know-how from hosting in 2014. Canada’s performance projection for the 2026 Commonwealth Games is a top three ranking in total medals, amongst all nations and territories competing.
