Canadian swimmer, Benoit Huot, carries the Queen's Baton at a rally on Parliament Hill. The baton is travelling 190,000 km around the world leading up to the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India this October. Huot is one of 250 Canadian athletes on Team Canada which is expected to finish among the top three nations overall.

For the second time in three months, Canada is playing host to a major international sport relay. Today on Parliament Hill, Martha Deacon, Chef de Mission for Team Canada Delhi 2010, passes the Queen's Baton to Minister of State for Sport, Gary Lunn. Deacon will lead a team of 250 athletes to Delhi for the biggest multi-sport competition in the world this year.
The Queen's Baton 2010 Delhi carries a message from the Queen that will be read to athletes at the Opening Ceremony of the Delhi Commonwealth Games in October. The baton reflects the unique culture of India while featuring a range of high-tech gadgetry including a GPS system and the ability to capture video and sound as it travels throughout the Commonwealth.
