Greg Maychak

DIRECTOR

Greg Maychak is an experienced and innovative project manager with focus in the area of sports. His abilities have helped with the Commonwealth Sport Canada (CSC) Hamilton 2030 bid and the City of Hamilton’s Pan Am Games initiative.

A proven track record of consistent success can be attributed to his:

  • Incredible networking and ability to work with others,
  • tremendous experience coordinating successful events on regional, national, and international levels,
  • strong leadership skills and the ability to complete multiple tasks prior to deadlines, and
  • great visionary and planning skills to develop the right path to successful project completion.

 

Maychak has over 40 years in sport development, organizing, and playing a key role in both event management and bid development. He currently serves on several local boards and committees including the International Children’s Games, Golden Horseshoe Athlete of the Year, Hamilton Athletic Trust Selection Committee, Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame (HSHOF), and is part of the Hamilton 2030 bid team.

As part of the HSHOF, Maychak serves as Vice Chair. With his help in this role, the organization celebrates and promote athletes, teams, coaches, officials, and builders who have achieved the highest standards of excellence while representing Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Dedicated to the advancement of sport at all levels, Maychak’s goal and philosophy is to provide increased opportunities for those less fortunate to participate while developing the necessary skills and education en route to a better life through the power of sport.

Maychak is a graduate of Brock University in St. Catharines, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation and Leisure / Honours Physical Education with a minor in Business.
