Canada’s Ryan Bester (Hanover, Ont.) made short work of his opponent Harry Musonda from Zambia this morning, winning his men’s singles quarter-final 21-5. He advances to the semifinal at 12:45 today against either New Zealand or Australia.
It went very well. I was putting a lot of my first two bowls close to the white ball and got scores of twos, threes and fours, in several ends, so that’s how I got to 21 pretty quickly. I played defence, gave up ones, scored multiples. It’s like in curling when you have the hammer you want to score twos, give up one.
