Maggie Brennan

Maggie Brennan is a dynamic bilingual leader in the sport sector from Ottawa, Ontario, with extensive experience in sport development, international relations, and project management. As the Senior Manager of Sport Development and International Federation (Sport) Partnerships at Special Olympics International, she is dedicated to enhancing opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities worldwide. Maggie collaborates with Special Olympics countries and regions to promote inclusivity and develop comprehensive sports programs that embrace athletes of all abilities.
A certified Project Management Professional, Maggie's expertise also spans fund development and inclusive sport practices. Her previous role with the Canadian Paralympic Committee included launching the ParaTough Cup, the organization’s signature fundraising event, and contributing to the Games Operations & Delivery team to support Canada’s National Sport Organizations in their preparations for the Paralympic and Parapan American Games.
Maggie has played a pivotal role in supporting teams and athletes at various Major Games, including the Youth Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, Special Olympics World Games, and Parapan American Games.
In 2018, she was selected as an IOC Young Leader by the International Olympic Committee, a program focused on leveraging sport as a tool for social good. Maggie holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Sports Administration from Laurentian University and is passionate about sports, stemming from her background as a former varsity ice hockey player and a competitive NCCP Certified Coach.
