Celebrating the arrival of the Queen’s Baton Relay (QBR) in Canada, top summer athletes came together to open the TSX. Pictured from left to right: Shahier Razik (Canada's #1-ranked Squash player), Trevino Betty (1998 Commonwealth Games Silver Medalist, Athletics), Nicole Forrester
(6-time Canadian High Jump Champion), Linda Cuthbert (1978 Gold Medalist in Diving and Commonwealth Games Canada Vice-President), and Hari Kant (member of Canada's 1998 Commonwealth Games Field Hockey Team).
Following on the heels of the wildly successful 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Torch Relays, the QBR is on a global journey of 190,000 kilometres through all 71 of the Commonwealth nations and territories that will participate in the Commonwealth Games this October. These Games, to be hosted in New Delhi, India, represent the largest multi-sport event in the world this year. The baton is the centrepiece for multiple events in Canada, including relays in downtown Toronto and on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
