TEAM CANADA - Mighty, Together - 2026 Commonwealth Games Glasgow, Scotland (July 23 - August 2, 2026)

Team Canada's six-athlete bowls squad, is ready for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, where bowls will be the first sport into competition when the Games get underway. 

Canada heads into the Games with a balanced team of experienced athletes and rising talent arriving at their first Commonwealth Games, all ready to compete on bowls' biggest stage. 

Ryan Bester was named Team Canada's Opening Ceremony Flag Bearer and is set to compete in his seventh consecutive Commonwealth Games, partnering with John Bezear in pairs after the two won bronze together at the most recent World Championships. While, Kelly McKerihen returns for her fourth Commonwealth Games and will compete in both singles and pairs, teaming with Emma Boyd of Tsawwassen, British Columbia, in the pairs event. 

“It's a special thing to represent your country. I'm really lucky enough to have competed in three other Games, this being my fourth. I’m very excited to wear the maple leaf again, it's always a great honour and a great joy to do so,” said McKerihen.  

For the first time in Commonwealth Games history, bowls and Para Bowls will be played indoors. “It's a different format than it has been in the past. I'm really looking forward to getting on the greens and starting to compete on an indoor carpet,” said McKerihen. Competition will begin with four games running simultaneously on indoor rinks, and a faster sets-based format built to bring a lively atmosphere to a sport traditionally played outdoors. 

The bowls competition at the 2026 Commonwealth Games will take place at the SEC Centre in Glasgow from July 23-August 2, featuring 7 events: Men's: Singles, Pairs; Women's: Singles, Pairs; Para: Men's Pairs (B6-B8), Women's Pairs (B6-B8), Mixed Pairs (B2-B3)
