OTTAWA - (2026-07-07) - Commonwealth Sport Canada (CSC) and Boxing Canada are proud to announce the athletes who will represent Team Canada in boxing at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, taking place July 23 to August 2, 2026.
This year’s team features one returning competitor, Montreal’s Keoma Al-Ahmadieh, who captured bronze in 2022. The remaining five members will all be making their Commonwealth Games debut. However, the team will have a family connection as joining Al-Ahmadieh will be his sister Marie Al-Ahmadieh as the siblings look to bring home medals.
"Every athlete selected for Team Canada has earned this opportunity through years of dedication and perseverance," said Kelly Laframboise, Director, Team Canada 2026. "This boxing team combines valuable international experience with exciting new talent, and we're confident they will represent Canada with courage, sportsmanship and pride at the Commonwealth Games."
Women’s Team:
The women’s team will see Marie Al-Ahmadieh compete at 60kg. Earlier this year, Al-Ahmadieh captured bronze at the Boxam International Tournament. In 2025, she represented Canada at the World Boxing Championships. Al-Ahmadieh will aim to turn those experiences into success when she competes at the Games.
Also in action on the women’s side will be Brampton, Ontario’s Scarlett Delgado. Delgado was a quarterfinalist at the 2026 World Boxing Cup in Brazil and represented Canada at the 2025 World Boxing Championships. She will make her Commonwealth Games debut in Glasgow at 54kg.
Finally, rounding out the women’s team is Amber-Jane Wall, from Edmonton, Alberta. Wall won a bronze earlier this year at the Belgrade Winner tournament and will search for more hardware at the Games when she competes at 51kg.
Men’s Team:
The men’s team is headlined by Keoma Al-Ahmadieh who has already found success this year. He earned a bronze medal at the first 2026 World Boxing Cup and a silver at the Boxam International Tournament in Spain. The sole returning member will be looking to improve on his bronze from 2022 when he competes at 60kg.
Joshua Ofori of Edmonton will also be in action at 80kg. Ofori captured a bronze at the first 2026 World Boxing Cup and is a past gold medalist from the 2025 World Challenge Cup, which helped him earn the title of Boxing Canada’s Rookie of the Year for 2025. Now he will look to build on that success when he makes his Commonwealth Games debut.
Rounding out the men’s side is Gabriel Aly-Labrie of Montreal. Just like his teammates, Aly-Labrie earned bronze at the first 2026 World Boxing Cup. He will look to use that positive showing when he competes at 65kg in Glasgow.
“Returning to the Commonwealth Games is a great honour, and I'm proud to represent Canada in Glasgow,” said Keoma Al-Ahmadieh. “This is a chance for our team to compete against some of the world's top boxers and show how far we've come. We're hungry to compete and excited to put Canadian boxing on display.”
The boxing team for Glasgow 2026 is optimistic they can improve on their four-medal haul (one gold, three bronze) from Birmingham in 2022.
Boxing Canada is sending National Team Head Coach Vincent Auclair and National Team Coach Ariane Fortin to support the team. The last time the Commonwealth Games were in Glasglow, 12 years ago, Ariane Fortin won a silver medal for Canada in the Women’s 75kg.
In preparation for the Games, the team will be in Belfast, Ireland for an international camp from July 7 until they travel to Glasgow for the beginning of the Games.
The boxing competition at the 2026 Commonwealth Games will take place at The SEC Centre in Glasgow from July 24 to August 1, featuring 14 events:
Men’s: 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 80kg, 90kg, 90+kg
