Confetti good luck messages rain down on athletes at Opening Ceremony

It was a special, unique, efficient and refreshing Opening Ceremony, with a most original souvenir: Thousands of slips of white tissue paper rained down on athletes, each paper bearing an original handwritten good luck message from a Glasgow child.

“Do the best you can!!!” wrote Rayyan Khalid, age 9.

“Good luck Do your best I hope you have a nice day.” wrote Sarah, 9.

Fatima Pasha, age 10 sent this encouraging note: “You are going to have a great day in every kind of way.”

The papers are priceless and precious souvenirs from the evening. To the children of Glasgow who wrote them – thank you!
