Pamela Ware wins bronze at diving World Series
BEIJING - Pamela Ware of Beloeil, Que., won the bronze medal Saturday on women's three-metre at the first stop on the FINA World Series diving circuit.
It was Canada's third medal of competition, and a second podium for Ware, after silver on women's three-metre and 10-m synchro on Friday.
Han Wang led China to a 1-2 finish on three-metre with 368.55 points. He Zi was second at 356.40 and Ware followed at 339.75.
Jennifer Abel of Laval, Que., was sixth.
Abel and Ware combined forces Friday for the silver on three-metre synchro.
The six-stop World Series is reserved for the top-eight divers in the world for each event. Windsor, Ont., is the Canadian stop May 30 to June 1.
