Sports Update

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) and the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) have recently announced the 20 national teams that will participate in the upcoming hockey tournament at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Both the Canadian women’s and men’s field hockey teams have qualified to compete at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

“As an important milestone, the excitement grows as Canada qualifies to compete at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in additional sports, including field hockey,” says Scott Stevenson, Executive Director, Team Canada 2022 (Birmingham). “We anticipate an exciting and high-caliber hockey competition in Birmingham and look forward to announcing the specific athletes to represent Canada in all sports.”
