On day three of wrestling in Glasgow at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Canada wins another four medals. Since the wrestling competition started on July 29th Canada has won seven gold, two silver and three bronze with a total of 12 medals won at the 2014 Games.
Canada’s Paralympians contributed to the Canadian athletics team’s medal tally Thursday night at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, winning silver and bronze medals in the 1500-metre wheelchair races.
EDINBURGH, Scotland – Meaghan Benfeito of Montreal won the gold medal Thursday on women’s 10-m tower in diving action at the Commonwealth Games while Roseline Filion of Laval, Que., took the bronze.
“I am very happy. I wasn’t expecting it. I have a lot to say but I don’t know if I have the words to describe it. In the first moments, I didn’t make my best lifts, I was a little bit disappointed. But at the clean-and-jerk, when I saw I had the chance to win the gold medal, I concentrated more.
I already talked to my coach about it, it’s just for me, a slow start position, give up the first four or six points because they just take the point and then shut down. It could be better, let’s just put it that way.
